Dr Emma Hormoz is a Specialist Counselling Psychologist, an NHS manager, a HCPC (Health Care Professional Council) Panel member. She is registered with the statutory regulator for psychologists, the HCPC and is also a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society.


In addition to her doctorate training, Dr Hormoz is also a qualified and experienced Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) and a Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) Practitioner. For these professions she is registered with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy (BABCP) and the Association for Cognitive Analytic Therapy (ACAT), respectively. Additionally, she has training and extensive experience as a clinical supervisor, and manager of services and qualified psychologists.



While offering therapy privately, Dr Hormoz also continues to work within NHS secondary care services, managing psychology teams. She is highly skilled in working with many problem areas, including depression, anxiety disorders (GAD, Panic, phobias, OCD, health anxiety and social anxiety), addictions, self-harm, suicidal ideation, family pressures, low self-esteem, interpersonal difficulties, bereavement, racial and sexual abuse and much more. Dr Hormoz has a special interest in working with eating disorders, complex PTSD & trauma.


Dr Hormoz is responsible for the supervision and clinical management of Senior Psychologists, Therapists, Nurses, Trainee Psychologists, and Assistant Psychologists.


Dr Emma Hormoz has been appointed as a Professional Panel Member for the HCPC. The HCPC regulates the Psychology profession. Dr Hormoz is responsible, as part of the panel, to consider allegations of misconduct against psychologists (and evidence presented), and decide on fitness to practice, while considering patient safety and the profession’s reputation.

Therapy & Treatment Options


Following her doctoral psychology training, Dr Hormoz pursued substantial additional training and qualifications within other specialist therapies. As such, she is experienced in providing a number of different therapeutic approaches. Not only does this benefit her clients with a range of treatment options but this enables her to think objectively about which therapy might be the best for each individual based on their needs and what they want to get from therapy.


Dr Hormoz has training and experience of working with Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET), Person-centred counselling, and Brief Psychodynamic therapy. Teaching & Clinical Supervision

As part of her NHS management role, Dr Hormoz is practised in delivering clinical supervision to others. She has undertaking various supervisor trainings and has been delivering clinical supervision to others within the NHS since 2012. Learn More


Dr Hormoz has been a guest lecturer for University College London (UCL) since 2016 and offers clinical supervision for trainee clinical and counselling psychologist at a number of London universities.
